I was there at the time, altough I wasn’t involved in the testing, I guess some additional information couldn’t hurt. We were experiencing the problem that, altough the player joined the game and switched to the observer/referee slot, the record state would stay at “Ready for game join”. Does the game have to be filled up for it to work? Or is it because RGC works different from bnet? On RGC you basically join all games via LAN. If the second is the case then it would be nice to know what is necessary to get the state to switch to “Ready for game start” Thanks in advance. Regards, |

its certainly because rgc works differently. As long as the proper listening device is selected, the recorder state should change to “waiting for observer” or “ready for game start” as soon as you join the game. I assume your hosting platform somehow hosts through localhost, therefore i think selecting your local area network adapter might be the wrong choice. if the loopback interface is listed in the device list, try using this. otherwise, try to find out which device to use by using wireshark (i believe this was the according program): its a winpcap based packet sniffer which allows you to see and browse current network traffic. Find, on which adapter the warcraft traffic is transmitted, and select this in the recorder. This might work, otherwise it probably won’t work at all unless we adapt our recorder to your platform (which, at the current project stage, is unlikely to happen) |

Okay so here’s a new turn. I enabled the Broadcast to whole LAN feature in RGC client and it got past Waiting for joining state. Now it detects game name, map and e.t.c. However it doesn’t detect players that join and wont change state to Read to record. Also what’s weird is that I can see the game in wtv even if i have warcraft 3 closed. In hopes of reasonable fix. |

the recorder creates logs. do the following: start recorder, start rgc, start warcraft, join game, start game, play for 10 seconds, end game, copy complete log, upload to pastebin.com or something similar and finally post that link here. of course the game should be “wtv compatible”, so play with an observer and also make sure the recorder detected the game like you said. if you do get that far, that should be included in the log. maybe maybe maybe one of our programmers can then see a simple fix form the log and you get lucky. |

Heres the log. Line 41 represents game starting, which seems to close the server… no clue why. |

hum does not look that good i think (though i don’t know ;p) please redo the log, after setting verbose=1 in the recorders .ini file. I think there should be more useful information then. |

Same thing at line 41, changing verbose didn’t do anything. Well guess that’s it then… |
